Transmission System

IE Drives

IE drives multi-speed transmissions and gearboxes are specifically designed to be used with electric motor powered vehicles. The technology has over 30 years of development meeting the demands of NASCAR’s 9,000 to 10,000 rpm engines discharging 600 kilowatts (800 hp) for hours on end.

PRODUCTS – EVT1

EVT1 High RPM Heavy Duty RPM Reducer

  • IE drives EVT1 is a double reduction gear set, designed for heavy duty vehicle applications.
  • As with all of IEdrives EVTs, it has a female input to allow for close, compact integration with the drive motor.
  • It offers a very wide range of ground helical gear ratios from 4.0 down to 1.1:1.
  • All of these ratios are capable of being driven at high, sustained input speeds. It is capable of a continuous peak input torque up to 1300 Nm at the lower rpms, and up to 350 Nm at 9,000 rpm for 30 minutes.
  • Input torques can be increased with a ground spur gear configuration.

  • PRODUCTS – EVT2-R

    Electric Vehicle Transmission Systems

High RPM, Heavy Duty Two Speed

  • IEdrives EVT2-R can be configured for either high rpm for low to medium torque motors or for high torque, low speed motors.
  • Either configuration is a heavy duty transmission with helical cut gears, capable of high, sustained input speeds up to 9,000 rpm for 30 minutes.
  • This AMT is capable of a continuous peak input torque of up to 1,200 Nm at the lower rpms, and up to 300 Nm at 9,000 rpm. This transmission further offers a very wide range of gear ratio choices for both 1st, and 2nd gear.
  • The EVT2-R can be electrically shifted with 12Vdc or an optional 24Vdc. A 3-wire RPM sensor on the output shaft is included.
  • This transmission is specifically designed to be integrated with and controlled by a VCU (vehicle control unit). This AMT is not intended to be manually shifted or manually commanded to shift without the aid of a VCU.

  • PRODUCTS – EVT4

    EVT4 Medium Duty Four Speed

  • IE drives EVT4 medium duty transmission is capable of high, sustained input speeds common with many traction motors.
  • The EVT4 with ground spur gears is capable of a continuous peak input torque up to 1250 Nm at the lower rpms, and up to 650 Nm at 9,000 rpm for 30 minutes. Helical gears are available.
  • This transmission series further offers a very wide range of gear ratio choices for 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear. Fourth gear is always 1:1.
  • This transmission is specifically designed to be integrated with and controlled by a VCU (vehicle control unit). This AMT is not intended to be manually shifted or manually commanded to shift without the aid of a VCU.
